Kunpengopterus stock image
Kunpengopterus was a small pterosaur from the Middle to Upper Jurassic Tiaojishan Formation in northeasten China. It had an opposable thumb that helped it grasp branches. Kunpengopterus was a wukongopterid, a lineage of pterosaurs that were anatomically transitional between early long-tailed pterosaurs and the short-tailed pterodactyloids.
