Diandongosuchus Fuyuanensis stock image
Diandongosuchus was a small phytosaur found in Middle Triassic rocks in Yunnan, China. Although they look like crocodilians, phytosaurs are only distantly related. Crocodilians and phytosaurs evolved their similar body shapes independently due to similar selective pressures, an example of convergent evolution.
