Notiomastodon And Caimans stock image

A Notiomastodon chases a group of caimans away as it wades through floodwaters in Brazil about 15,000 years ago. Notiomastodon was a gomphothere, close relatives of living elephants. They were still alive when humans first arrived in South America and may have been hunted to extinction.
